Maybe it’s it the moving day jitters, you know the buyer’s remorse that we’re all too familiar with for those in real estate. Except this time the rolls were reversed and there was a panic that sent everything into a tizzy because one of the desks I ordered was the color “white chocolate”.
The theme was modern and the color white. It shouldn’t be too hard to mess up right? Wrong! How could anyone ever go wrong with ordering office furniture online in the color white?
When it arrived it was all wrong. To no avail I attempted to calm nerves with some “it’s not so bad” texts. The desk got the worst of it but fault was really with the stress of moving. By the time Saturday rolled around everything started to fall into place quite nicely.
3 days until I leave for Paris. 2 more workdays before vacation. 1 more day until I move offices.
I started writing this days ago in between work, packing the office and packing for my trip. I’m now finishing this post on my iPhone in an Uber traveling to see the Statue of Liberty from Liberty Airport in Newark, NJ.
I have a 12 hour layover in Newark before my connecting flight to Paris so in memory of Anthony Bourdain I’m headed to see the Statue of Liberty for the first time.
“On traveling, on culture, and on moving: “If I am an advocate for anything, it is to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food. It’s a plus for everybody.” Anthony Bourdain
