I’ve been struggling with what to write about lately. Needless to say that’s why I haven’t been blogging. Recently it seems that here has been a circus in my head busy with juggling career, adult responsibilities, new courses, timelines, deadlines and the list goes on and on. I never really invested too much time watching tv but over the past couple of months that has changed. At the end of the day I craved nothing more than to let my brain turn to mush in front of the TV. On a good note I watched some very good shows on Netflix. Looking for a new series to binge? I have some suggestions!
The Haunting of Hill House If you’re in the mood for something spooky to get you into the Halloween spirit then I recommend this show. This mini-series consists of 10 episodes which are each about an hour-long. Beware that the show is so good that I spent a couple of nights staying up way too late on a weeknight.
Maniac is as flawed and beautiful as the human mind. This 10 part mini series delves into the dark corners of the human mind. Maniac mixes 90’s nostalgia, a population of crappy little robots (pun intended), vintage style and antiquated 8-bit displays. Imagine a future in which Apple never existed to make technology aesthetically pleasing, where poverty runs rampant and the currency is something called Ad Buddies. In my opinion most will either love or hate Maniac. I loved it!
Love is a Netflix romantic comedy series produced by Judd Apatow about two thirty-something singles from two different worlds. Each episode is a riot of laughs. Through the creative writing and rich characters one may realize that love is hard, nobody wants to do the wrong thing, everyone has their reasons leading many to do what feels right. This comedy series gives way to a touching realism.
Read a review on Maniac the other day, after you recommended it to me… just sorting out an order for it now. Looks interesting. Cheers.
